Today New York City FC announce that MLS NEXT Pro affiliate New York City FC II will face USL Championship side Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the Round of 32 of the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 8 at 7:30pm ET at Belson Stadium.
The ‘Boys in Blue’ advanced to the Round of 32 after a thrilling 3-2 road win against USL Championship side Hartford Athletic in the Third Round of the tournament, becoming the last MLS NEXT Pro team standing from the 11 that initially entered the tournament.
The 'Boys in Blue’ have totaled 10 goals and seven assists along with one clean sheet throughout the tournament. Forwards Taylor Calheira and Jonathan Jiménez lead New York City’s front line tallying five goal contributions a piece consisting of three goals and two assists.
Tickets for New York City FC City Members will be available for $5 and go on sale on Monday, April 22 at 10am ET. Tickets for the general public will start at $15 and go on sale on Monday, April 22 at 1pm ET.
